Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Studies

This course equips learners (students) with the skills to analyse future trends, address global and local challenges, and provide sustainable, ethical solutions in the dynamic hospitality and tourism industry. Additionally, learners (students) will gain expertise in identifying niche markets, developing digital marketing campaigns, leveraging social media, and utilising data analytics to optimize strategies. The course prepares learners (students) to navigate the evolving tourism landscape and ensuring they are well-equipped for higher education and global industry demands.

Entry Requirement

  • 18 years old
  • Attainment of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, or  
  • A pass in ASCENSUS’ English Literacy Test with a minimum grade of 70%. 
Normal Entry:
  • ASCENSUS INSTITUTE’s Diploma qualification, or
  • Other SSG registered PEIs’ Diploma qualification, or
  • Equivalent qualification from a recognised higher learning institution, or
  • At least 1 pass for GCE ‘A’ Level, or
  • Completion of High School (11th year) qualification or equivalent for International Students
Alternative Entry:

Applicants with the minimum age of 30, who do not possess the above qualifications but have a minimum of 8 years working experience, may be considered for entry into this course.

Graduation Requirement and Award

ASCENSUS INSTITUTE awards will be conferred upon successful completion of the course that obtained a minimum pass with a ‘C-’ grade in all the required modules.

Possible Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion of the course, learners (students) may progress into a degree course, subject to meeting the entry requirements and obtaining the approval of the university.
